Valentines Day

I wore a suit and a red tie to escort two of my daughters to a Valentines dinner at my retirement home. The staff decorated the room where I take my daily exercise class. It was very special candlelight dinner with a live band. There were strawberries dipped in chocolate for the dessert. I was very pleased with the way things turned out.

After dinner, Nora gave a speech to thank the staff for the help they have given me over the years. She also had red pens for the residents and the staff, in honor of my sweetheart Kitty. Kitty would have liked this dinner very much.

Earlier in the day, I told my daughter Elsie in Florida that I wanted her to come up on the next plane. She knows I like to kid with her, so she told me I had more than my quota of Valentines.

My granddaughter Kate in New York called to wish me a Happy Valentines Day. She also sent me a Big Valentines Day card by federal express. I know that cost her a pretty penny.

All in all it was a great day.
