Nora and Dan's Restaurant

My family has been very busy these days. Nora and my grandson Dan have been working on a new restaurant which will open very soon. Kit and I went out there to see the progress. They have been working all kinds of hours to get the place open. I have missed Nora's Wednesday visits, but I understand she needs to work on the restaurant right now.

Here is a picture of us standing by the podium which Dan designed.

My Florida's Daughter's Visit - 8-9-08

All 3 of my daughters were with me on Saturday.

We had a grand time watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics on the TV. Nora had taped it.

Today was the 13th anniversary of Joe's death. Kit had pulled out some eye glasses, chains, watches and the like from boxes. Elsie was most pleased to take some home with her.

We ate all kinds of ice cream. I think I had 5 different kinds. On our way back, Kit and I stopped for a pizza . For lunch we had KFC. It was a day of calories. It is a good thing I have fruit and soup for lunch every day.

My Favorite Restaurant

There is a special restaurant in my neighborhood where they serve very good steaks, leg of lamb, baked potato, salad bar, and bread. It is called The Golden Flame.

For my 91st birthday, the waiters surprised me with a dessert and the happy birthday song.

My 91st Birthday - July 27th

I am now 91 years old.

We celebrated the day at Nora's house with my family and my brother Jesse's family.

Three of my out-of-town granddaughters, Melissa from North Carolina, Kate from Manhattan, and Lila from Florida were all able to make it.

I had a few grandchildren who were out of the country - Kevin was in Spain and Kelly was in New Zealand.

My great grand son Austen is right next to me.

It was a tremendous day. There were so many people to talk to. We always celebrate my niece Angela's birthday as her birthday is the same month as mine.

To: John Eugenio, My Great Grand Son

From: Great Grand Dad Johnny Mann

I wanted a bright Red Fire Engine for John that you could sit on it and drive to all the big fires in your area, so you could press on the loud horn, ring the bells, sound the big horn, and most important is that you are the Chief, John Eugenio, the Captain, and it is very important you take charge of all the fires in the big City. You can tell your entire crew of Firemen, "Don't give up". Our big job today is "To stop this great big fire from burning all the City." So I say "Keep up your great efforts to stop all fires"

In closing, go to your home and get a good rest because I need all you great Fire Fighters to say "we will stop all fires, to make our citizens safe and not lose their homes.

Well John Eugenio, "keep up your good work".

My best to you and your firemen.

Great Grand Father, Johnny Mann
